MONROE -- The doubles tandem of Darnesha Moore and Gabrielle Moore earned the Lady Jaguars lone win before Southern University Women's Tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to ULM Thursday night at Heard Stadium in Monroe.

With a 7-6 win, the team of Darnesha and Gabrielle Moore helped Southern (1-2) force a decisive match with the doubles point in the balance. But Kendall Bunch and Morgan Taylor loss 7-6 to Letha Gaigher and Jana Duhanova as the Warhawks clinched the doubles point prior to singles play.

In singles play, Southern went on to drop three of the six matches as Darnesha Moore fell to Sophie Rufyikiri 6-0, 6-2 and Gabrielle Moore loss to Petra Horakova. ULM (2-0), who defeated Alcorn State 4-0 in Game 1 of their season-opening double header, clinched the match versus Southern after Jana Duhanova edged Camara Davis 6-2, 6-2.

Southern returns to tennis action when they travel to face Southeastern in Hammond Feb. 6 before making the 45-minute drive to Lafayette to meet the University of Louisiana Lafayette Ragin Cajuns Feb. 11.
