Jaguars Record 11 Personal Records

CLINTON, MI - Southern University Men's and Women's cross country ran in their fourth meet Saturday morning competing in the Mississippi College Invitational at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, MI.

For the first time, this season the women competed in 6k. In Saturday's race, the women went up against two Southwestern Athletic Conference Schools including Alabama A&M and Jackson State. 

Sophomore transfer, Chantaya Griffin placed12th out of 149 competitors with a time of 23:34.7. Griffin also recorded a personal recorded in Saturday's meet. 

The men competed in 8k at Saturday's meet for the first time this season. The men placed 8th out of 22 teams this weekend, beating both SWAC teams including Jackson State and Alabama A&M. 

Senior, Keshuan Javios finished 45th out of 180 participants with a time of 26:54.6. Javios recorded a personal record in Saturday's meet. 

Ja'Mya Verdun, Sydney Minor, Chantaya Griffin, Nina Burgos, Dajah Gant, Raelynn Price, Nicholas Scott, Tallan James, Keshuan Javois, Lafayette Collins, and Austin Martin all set personal records in Saturday morning's meet.

The Jaguars will head back to Clinton, MI for the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship Monday, October 21.
