Jaguars Claim several Personal Records at Nicholls Invitational
THIBODAUX - Southern University Men's and Women's cross country teams competed in their second meet of the season at the second annual Nicholls XC Invitational at The Nicholls Farm in Thibodaux, La. 
Although the outcome wasn’t what both teams wanted there were several athletes that had personal records including; Tallen James, 
Nicholas Scott, Lafayette Collins, Dajah Gant, and JaMya Verdun. 
The women started the meet off by running a 5k with six athletes competing. Although, the women came in fourth place out of four teams, the ladies competed very well individually. 
Sophomore transfer, Chantaya Griffin placed fifteenth out of 35 with a time of 20:40.45. Sophomore, Sydney Minor coming in right on her teammates heels in eighteenth place with a time of 21:01.91.
The men finished 4th out of 5 teams. The men fought their way through a course filled with hills but still managed to record good times.
Junior transfer, Tallan James came in at eleventh place with a time of 22:08.12. Freshman Lafayette Collins put himself in the mix amongst his teammates by coming second in team positions and seventh overall with a time of 22:44.06. 
The Jaguars will be back at it right here in Baton Rouge Friday, September 27 for the LSU Invitational. The meet is set to begin in the evening around 6 pm with the women running a 5k.
