BATON ROUGE - The Southern University track and field team will head to Austin, Texas for their 60th straight appearance at the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The three-day meet will begin on Wednesday, March 27 and go through Saturday, March 30. 
The Jaguars will compete against teams like Duke, Texas, Oklahoma, Cincinnati, Missouri, Baylor, Houston, TCU and many more. 
"Texas Relays is a big relay meet for us."  'We're looking forward to seeing our kids get as close to regionals in relays as possible," said head coach Teremine White. 
The women's 4x100-meter relay ran a qualifying mark during the Louisiana Classics with a time of 47.18. The women's relay, including; Ashley Miles, Nia Williams, Terralicia Mercedal, and Toni Carter will compete on Friday, March 29 at 9:35 am. 
Also, during the Louisiana Classics meet the men's 4x100 meter qualified for Texas relays with a time of 41.52. The team includes; Derrick Garner, Artis McCoy, Heisman Woods, and Kirkland Hills. The men will compete on Friday, March 29 following the women. 
Nia Williams looks to move up on the SWAC performance list in the 100-meters. Williams currently sits in fifth with a time of 12.02. Williams is scheduled to run on Friday, March 29. 
The women's 4x400-meter relay qualified with a time of 3:48.94. The team including; Terralicia Mercadel, Tessa Tony, Realynn Price, and Ashley Miles will compete Friday, March 29. 
Faith Estelle sits first on the SWAC performance list with a throw of 53.32 meters (174'11").  Estelle will compete at Bobcat Invitational on Friday, March 29.
