BATON ROUGE - Southern University soccer falls, 3-0 to Prairie View Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Park.
Southern falls (1-10-1, 0-4-1), Prairie View improves to (3-6-1, 2-1-1)
The Jaguars managed to keep the first half scoreless against the Panthers.
Prairie View outshot Southern, 19-8, and posted 7-5 shots on target advantage. Goalkeeper, Chioma Eriken had 4 saves out of 7 shots on goal. Eriken recorded an entire 49-minutes in Sunday afternoon's game. The Panther had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Early in the second half, Diana Neff scored off a Southern error making it 1-0 at the 51-minute mark. The Jaguar fought back and forth with the Panthers.
Ashley Chala scored for the Panthers making it 2-0 at the 80-minute mark. Five minutes later Diana Neff scored giving the Panthers their third and final point of the game.
The Jaguars will go back on the road for another doubleheader starting with Arkansas Pine-Bluff Friday, October 18 at 4 p.m. The Jaguars will then turn around to play Grambling State Sunday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m in Grambling, Louisiana.
