BATON ROUGE, LA. -- Southern University QB Ladarius Skelton had a homecoming to remember accounting for 436 yards and four touchdowns. Skelton hit Hunter Register in the back of the endzone with 28 seconds on the clock for the game-winning touchdown in front of 20,344 screaming fans in A. W. Mumford Stadium.

Skelton was 16-of-25 passing for a season-high 198 yards and two touchdowns and 34 carries for 238 yards and two more scores for the Jaguars. Register pulled in seven catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jaguars are 5-4 overall and 4-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play and sitting at the top of the Western Division. 

Offensively the Jaguars posted 355 yards on the ground led by Skelton. Devon Benn added 28 yards off 6 carries and a score. Register led the receiving corp with 95 yards, Travis Tucker added 43 yards as the Jaguars put up 203 yards through the air. 

It was a 60-minute heavyweight bout but the Jaguar defense held its ground at the end led by linebackers Calvin Lunkins and Caleb Carter. Lunkins recorded 13 stops with two of those for a loss. Carter added 8 more tackles as the Jaguar defense continues to shut down opposing teams running games. The Bulldogs finished the night with only 71 yards rushing. Jalen Ivy made the Jaguar Nation erupt in the stadium with the game-winning sack on Aqeel Glass.

The Jaguars will be at home for Senior Night as they take on Virginia Lynchburg.  The game is set for 4:00 PM

On 11/16/19 the Jaguars will travel up interstate 55 to face off with Jackson State. The game is set for 2:00 PM
