NEW ORLEANS -- The Southern University Jaguars are back on the road after a succesfull two-game home stand. The Jags will not head far as they will face in-state foe Tulane University for Education Day on Wednesday, December 6 at Avron B. Folgeman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

The Jaguars are well rested as they have not played in eight days. Last time out Southern University senior forward Jared Sam recorded a game-high 24 points 13 rebounds to lead the Jaguars past the Wiley College Wildcats 92-69 on Dec. 28 at the F.G. Clark Activity Center. The game marked the second consecutive victory for Southern, as they defeated UT-Martin the week before 69-66, Sam led all scores, scoring a season high 27 points.

The 6-2 Tulane squad dropped their last game to North Carolina 97-73 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The Jaguars and the Green Wave will meet for the eighth straight year, and eleventh time overall, where Tulane leads the series 9-1. Southern's Chris Thomas leads the Jags with 19 points respectively.
