Jaguars Fall on the Road at Murray State

Murray, KY - A slow start in the first half set the tone as SU dropped its first road game at Murray State Saturday night 69-49.

Despite a rough start, the Jaguars came out in the second half and played better basketball only getting outscored by 7 points, 39-32. SU was able to force the Racers into 21 turnovers, scoring 16 points off turnovers while holding MSU to 19% from the 3-point line on 3-of-16. The Jaguars bench outscored MSU 22-17.

Montese Blake led Southern with 13 points, one assists and a steal while Darius Williams and Amel Kuljuhovic each had seven points. The Jaguars were lead on the boards by Williams with game high twelve rebounds and Kuljuhovic had three blocks.

Next up, Southern will go back on the road to take on 2019 NCAA Tournament team the New Mexico State Aggies, Thursday Nov. 14 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised through Aggie Vision.
