CLINTON, MI - Southern University Men's and Women's cross country wrapped up their season Monday morning at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship. 

The women finished in fourth overall at the SWAC championship Monday morning at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, MI. 

Chantaya Griffin placed 5th and set a personal record with a time of 19:34.6. Griffin also received, first-team all-conference. 

Sydney Minor was right behind Griffin as she took 6th and dropped two minutes off of her time from last year's championship. Minor broke 20 minutes and ran a time of 19:36.9. Also, Minor received second-team all-conference. 

The men finished in seventh place at the SWAC Championship Monday morning on the same course from their prior meet two weeks ago. The outcome wasn't what they hoped for but there were still individual accomplishments. 

Tallan James took thirteenth out of 59 competitors in Monday morning's race. James finished with a time of 27:09.1. 

Up Next 

The Jaguars will prepare to transition into the indoor track and field season. The first meet is set for January 10 at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.
