PINE BLUFF, AR - Southern University soccer defeated The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, 2-1 Friday afternoon in Pine Bluff, AR. 

Southern improves (2-9-1, 1-4-1), Pine Bluff falls to (5-8-0, 3-3-0)

The Jaguars worked hard throughout the first half. The Golden Lions managed to score the first goal of the game at the 23-minute mark, making it 1-0. 

Southern outshot Pine Bluff, 17-10, and posted 6-4 shots on target advantage. Goalkeeper, Chioma Eriken had 3 saves out of 4 shots on goal. Eriken recorded an entire 90-minutes in Friday afternoon's game. The Jaguars had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. 

Late in the second half, Raven Bradley scored with an assist from Lauryn McKinney making it 1-1 at the 67-minute mark. 

The Jaguars were determined to walk away with a win. Freshman Love' Tover scored the second and final point of the game, with an assist from Aniya Clark making it 2-1at the 85-minute mark.

The Jaguars will be back in action to play Grambling State Sunday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m in Grambling, Louisiana.
