LAFAYETTE - The Southern University Track and Field team completed yet another meet with outstanding performances. Despite high winds of about 24 mph, the Jaguars had two event winners, eight personal records and six seasons best. 
Several athletes recorded personal bests including, Sykie Sparks in the discus, K'Yana Jackson in the discus throw, Lawrenee Hart in the discus and the hammer throw, Jazmine Young in the discus throw, Kirkland Hills in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, Artis McCoy in the 200-meter dash, Jeremy Bass in the discus, Wallace Smith in the triple jump, and the men's 4x100-meter team. 
There were also athletes who had season best including, Paizley Armstrong in the 100-meter hurdles, Heisman Woods in the 100-meter dash, Teuanna Perry in the Triple Jump, and Da’on Acosta in the triple jump. 
”I’m happy with our team showing this week. We have one meet left this upcoming week at LSU, a week off and SWAC outdoor championships. The team is getting better at the right time, ” said head coach Teremine White. 
Sophomore Raelynn Price took first in the 800-meter run for the third time this season with a time of 2:17.82. Price is currently sixth on the Southwestern Athletic Conference performance list. 
Freshman Nicholas Scott finished first in the 800-meter run for the second weekend in a row with a time of 1:59.47. This is also Scott's third recorded win of the season. Scott is ninth on the SWAC performance list. 
The Jaguars only have two weekends left before the 2019 SWAC Conference Championships. The   final meet for the Jaguars before SWAC will be on April 20 at Bernie Moore Track Stadium for the LSU Alumni Gold.
