BATON ROUGE - Southern University track and field will take on Southeastern Louisiana in a dual meet Friday, March 22 at the Southeastern Complex at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. 
"This meet will be a chance for our athletes to run some of their best times, throw some of their best throws, and jumps some of their best jumps because it will just be Southern and Southeastern," said head coach Teremine White. 
Junior Artis McCoy looks to increase his positions on the SWAC performance list sitting eleventh in the 100-meter dash, sixth in the 200-meter dash, and eighth in the 400-meter dash. 
Freshman Jarden James also looks to climb the SWAC performance list as he sits in eighth place in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. 
For the women, Junior Tessa Tony looks to gain on her tenth place positions in the 100 hurdles at the Southeastern dual meet. 
Sophomore Alexandria McCoy looks to push her way into a top five position in the shot put on Friday at the Southeastern Track Complex. McCoy sits eighth in the shot put and second in the hammer throw on the SWAC performance list. 
The first field events are scheduled to start at 12 pm with the hammer throw and the long jump. The first running event is scheduled for 1:30 pm with the 4x100-meter relay.
