BATON ROUGE, La. | Southern University Jaguars Volleyball fell to the Univesity of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns 3-1 (16-25, 10-25, 29-27, 16-25) Tuesday in front of a packed house in Seymour Gym.

Head Coach Venessa Jacobs says that the team let the game get out of hand in the first two sets. She also mentioned that they needed to do a better job of protecting their house.

Senior Paige Hall recorded 10 kills and 5 digs. Brianna Hawkins recorded two aces, 11 digs, and a block.

The Jaguars came out fast and strong in the third set jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Brianna Hawkins recorded three kills during the 11-3 run. Louisiana made a run of their own, going on a 7-3 run to close the gap, 10-14. Southern extended their lead to eight, 23-15. ULL made one final push tying the game at 24-24, the Jaguars were able to hold-on winning the set 29-27.

Southern could not keep the momentum going into set four dropping the match, 3-1 (16-25, 10-25, 29-27, 16-25).

The Jaguars will back in action September 12 at Southland foe McNeese State, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
