Baton Rouge, La. -- The Southern University women's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference announced by the SWAC office Wednsday. Also announced was the selection of senior foward Brianna Green to the first team All-SWAC team.

The Jaguars made it to the semi-finals a year ago before falling short to Grambling State University at thr Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. This year the Jaguars return eight verterans from last season.

Green is a four year starter for the Jaguars. The Fort Lauderdale native finished sixth in the league with 14.5 points per game. She also recorded 62 steals and a 47 percent shooting percentage.

"I very grateful and humble when i receive any accolades or any award, some college players play four years and never receive any awards", said Green. 

Texas Southern was selected to finish first, Grambling and Alabama State rounds out the top three.
