Track and Field Coaching Staff
Coach Ware is entering her first year at Southern University serving as Assistant Track and Field Coach.
2019 season Ware coached the horizontal & vertical jumpers at Spartanburg High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She coached Cameron Gist to a state championship, school record in the triple jump, and 4th place finish in the long jump. Cameron is ranked one of the top triple jumpers in the country.
Ware is very familiar with Southwestern Athletic Conference where she coached the jumpers & multi athletes at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff 2013-2017. During her tenure at Pine Bluff she coached Sydnee Worlds, who was 2015 indoor SWAC bronze medalist in the indoor long jump and triple jump in 2015. Outdoor Worlds was the gold medalist in long jump (19'11") & triple jump (39'11"), 5th place (5'4") in high jump, 6th place heptathlon 3,996, & 8th place in the javelin. By herself she scored 29 points for the team and was awarded high point in the Field. She was also a NCAA West First Round Qualifer. She coached Crystal Christopher to a bronze finish at the 2015 outdoor conference and was also a NCAA West First Round Qualifer. Briana Burke jumped over 20 feet & was the silver medalist at outdoor 2017 SWAC championship & also was a 2017 NCAA First Qualifier. All of the horizontal & vertical jumpers scored in the top 8 at conference 2013-2017.
Before Arkansas she spent one season the at Iowa Central Community College coaching the horizontal jumpers. Coached conference champions, school record holders, NJCAA National Qualifiers, and NJCAA All-Americans. In 2013 Men & Women teams were Indoor runner-up and 2013 Outdoor Women's National Champions.
In 2010 she received her first coaching position at Coffeyville Community College. There she coached over 20 All-Conference, NJCAA National Qualifiers, NJCAA Americans, & 1 National Champion. She coached 3 student-athletes over 25ft in the long jump (Kadeem Douglas, Jharyl Bowery, and Orlando Ezell) in one season. The long jump and triple school records were broken in 2011.
She's a native of Indianapolis, IN, competed at Georgia Southern University under mentor Natalie Smith from 2008-2010 where she All-Conference in the 100m, 400 hurdles, and relays. Before Georgia Southern Ware ran for junior college power house, Rend Lake College in 2006-2007 where she was a two time NJCAA All-American in the 200m and long jump. Ware also holds the school record in the 55m and top 3 in 60m, 200m & long jump. She graduated with a Child Development degree coupled with Sociology and Education minors. She has the Track & Field Certification through USTFCCCA.
