Desstin Alcorn, a native of Houston, TX, is entering her second year as at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. She was promoted to Interim Director of Sports Medicine on October 1, 2019. She will primarily serve as the Football, Men's Basketball and Baseball Athletic Trainer.
Prior to Southern University, Alcorn spent two years, 2016-2018, at the University of Houston, in Houston, Texas, working with the nationally ranked Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country teams.
Alcorn earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2016. In 2017, Alcorn received her Master of Arts in Sport and Fitness Administration from the University of Houston in Houston, TX.
Alcorn is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Louisiana and Texas, and also a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association.
