Stephanos joins the Southern University Jaguars Baseball Program as Pitching Coach after a one year stint as Pitching Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at St. Petersberg College.
At St. Petersberg Colleg, Stephanos mentioned six pitchers that would go on to sign with six Division 1 Programs. The 2017 season saw the Titans win 31 games and make an appearance in the Region VIII Playoffs.
Prior to St. Petersberg, Stephanos spent two yeras s the Pitching Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at St. Catherine College, an NAIA program in Kentucky. The program reached new heights while amassing 73 wins over his two years as well as an appearance in the 2015 National Tournament. He tutored the Mid South Conference Pitcher of the Year in both 2015 and 2016 seasons as well as the Freshman of the Year in 2016. During his time in Springfield, he developed four pitchers that would go on to sign professional contracts.
The summer between years at St. Catherine, Stephanos served as the manager of the Strasburg Express in the Valley Baseball League. The Express won the franchise's first league title that 2015 summer with Stroop garnering Manager of the Year honors in the process.
Stephanos got his college caoching start at George Washington University serving as an assistant for two seasons for the 2012-2013 and 2013-1014 school years. He worked with ourfielders, pitchers and catchers during his stint. Prior to that he was an assistant coach at the St. Albans School in Washington, DC and his alma mater, Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN.
Stroop earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & History from Claremont McKenna College in 2010. He was a four year letter winner at Claremont. He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University in 2012.
