Jeff Conyers enters his 10th season as the head coach of the Southern University Women's Tennis Program with a career record of 131-80. Conyers served as an assistant coach at Southern for three years prior to being elevated to his current status as only the fifth head coach in Jaguar tennis history. He follows Howard Minnis, Clifton Johnson, Isiaka Akambi, and Eric Street as the head of the Southern tennis program.

In his years as the Jaguar's mentor, Conyers has continued to uphold the tradition of excellence established by the entire athletic department women's tennis teams. In his first season as head coach in 2002, Conyers guided the Jaguar Program to their second consecutive SWAC Championships and NCAA appearances. He enjoyed an equal amount of success in second and third year, as he led the Jaguars to their third and fourth consecutive SWAC Championship and NCAA Appearance in a row.

A 1999 graduate of Southern University, Baton Rouge with a degree in Elementary Education, Conyers enjoyed a successful three year career as a Jaguar player from 1995-1998.

The youngest of two children, of Imogene and Matthew Conyers of Thomasville, Georgia, Jeffrey considers the support of his entire family most significant. Older brother Marcus planted the love of tennis into the heart of Jeffrey as a youth.
