Men's Basketball sets sails for Bahamas Hoop Tour

Southern University Men’s Basketball departs for a three-game hoops tour of the Bahamas Saturday. Games will be played in Sir Kendal Isaac’s National Gymnasium in Nassau Bahamas.

NCAA Basketball teams are granted international travel every four years during the preseason for international play. Southern went north of the border to Canada during the summer of 2013, a fews months after the Jaguars nearly upset top-seeded Gonzaga in the NCAA Tournament. 

The exhibition games will be governed by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and follow those contest rules.

The Jaguars are scheduled to meet three local teams in summer competition during its international trip with the tour opener against ther CTG Knights on Sunday, August 6 at 6 p.m.  Following head coach Morris Scott's SU coaching debut, Southern will meet the Providence Storm at 6.m. before closing the Bahamain tour against IBA Elite at 8 p.m. All times are Eastern time zone.
