HOUSTON, Texas -- On a night the Women's Basketball team celebrated on the HP&E Arena floor, the Men's team stuns the heavily favorited Texas Southern University, 87-77 Saturday night.

Southern never trailed in the game scoring the first eight points.

Southern's Senior Richard Lee recorded a career-high 30 points on 9-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc, besting his 8-of-14 performance from beyond the arc versus South Dakota earlier this season. Osa Wilson was the other lone Jaguar to score in double-digit recording a career-high 12 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

10 Jaguars touched the hardwood versus TSU and all scored. All but two recorded an assist led by Aaron Ray and Jayden Saddler(4).

Texas Southern closed the margin to one with 5:28 left in regulation, before Southern went on a 14-2 run, to take an 85-72 lead with 1:35 left to put the game out of reach.

Southern's win, coupled with Alcorn State's loss at Prairie View A&M on Saturday, meant the Jaguars tied Alcorn for seventh place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings. With Southern owning the tiebreaker over Alcorn, the visitors' win Saturday sets up a rematch between the Tigers and Jaguars when the SWAC Tournament begins Tuesday.

Texas Southern, which clinched the No. 2 seed into the tournament earlier in the week, will host the No. 7 Jaguars for a 7:30 tipoff when the tournament begins Tuesday.
