Desirae George-McCool was born in Brampton, Ontario to Francine George. She is the granddaughter of Peggy and Henry George. During her high school and club soccer career, she helped garnered the Ontario Cup championship, and she was a Canadian National Club Soccer Silver Medalist in 2011 with North Mississauga Panthers. She was named the 2013 Player of the Month, 2014 ROPSSAA Champions, and MVP for Cardinal Leger Panthers. In 2012-2014, George-McCool attended the Disney Showcase, and the Las Vegas Mayors Cup Finalists Crossroad of America Showcase. While at Southern she was named to the 2015 and 2016 Dean's list, All-SWAC Academic Team and NSCAA Academic All-American Awards (2016), Chancellor Scholar 2016 and Honor scholar for Delores Margaret Richard Spikes Honors College. Throughout her career as a Lady Jag, she has played in a total of 49 games. As she continues on to her Senior year, Desirae will be majoring in Biology with a minor in French.
