Southern University men's basketball coach Roman Banks has been selected to serve as a guest speaker Tuesday, July 23 during the 2013 Louisiana High School Coaches Association Coaches Clinic at the Baton Rouge Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Banks will address attendants of the 2-day LHSAA sponsored clinic during a 10 a.m. session entitled Building a Program: Daily Operations Classroom to Court Work.

The Shreveport native guided the Southern men's basketball program from NCAA sanctioned academic penalties in 2011 to a SWAC Tournament title in 2013. Banks, along with his coaching staff, served as academic liaisons managing every aspect of the team's academic success from setting class schedule to monitoring mandatory study hall.
